A Soft Journey

Past midnight.
Sat on a bench, smoking a cigarette
is a guy.
He's there by himself, yet he's not alone.
Some swinging boats in front him with their tinkling,
that the wind causes by sliding softly on the water,
whispering sweet symphonies, intimate lullabies.
Being a man able to feel its harmony
nothing more is required.
For a moment he closes his eyes.
The same music is now a white melody
its purity and tenderness drive him away.
Reality leaves space to imagination
and reason bends in front of his dreams.
The body rests peacefully
while the mind floats into that woolly
atmosphere.
Suddenly a vision,
his eyelid wide open.
All is in the same place.
A journey of few moments,
a smile on his face
and another ocean wave.

An Ocean Wave - Lobos Rock, San Francisco

“The three great elemental sounds in nature are
the sound of rain, the sound of wind in a primeval wood,
and the sound of outer ocean on a beach.” (Henry Beston)
