Tripping safely

Every time I talk about my Tripping experiences with my friends or travelers, the first questions I always get are:

"Isn't it dangerous?"
"How do you know if you can trust the host/guest?"
"Aren't you scared of hosting people you don't know in your room/house?"

Obviously, safety is the first concern to come up when talking about hosting and meeting strangers, especially if this happens out of your hometown or country, and for free.
Personally, I've never had problems, only great surprises like the bonfire and house party in San Diego organized for my 3 friends and I during our trip to Mexico; like Vanessa, from Canada, and the inspiring stories of all her trips around the world; like Carolina from Spain, Tim from New Zealand.
However, at Tripping, the mission is to offer a service free from fears and doubt about safety.
In fact, tonight at midnight, the website will release a new system to get the "validated" badge. Through a one-on-one interview over Skype, Tripping operators will verify the identity and state of being of the users and its place, and make sure they can be labeled as "safe" or "verified".
CNET dedicated an article for this, if you want to know more.
Meanwhile,
Keep Tripping.
