I just came back from the trip to Mexico which was memorable [and which I'll write about] and tonight, on my way home from school, I was thinking about my project on Bose headphones, and about the technology involved.
How does this two thing connect is that in Mexico I experienced the numerous amount of speed bumps on the freeway, and in technology I saw the car riding those freeway; let me explain better.
The process with which technology gets developed and launched at full speed for people to adopt it is similar to a car on a Mexican freeway approaching a speed bump.
In fact, it usually happens that, while driving on a straight road from La Paz to Todos Santos, you’ll suddenly see a speed bump ahead of you.
Sometimes with signs indicating it, other times just appearing out of nowhere. Depending on the size of the car, the potential of the engine, the height from the ground, the amount of passengers, and the preparation of the driver, different things can happen.
Usually, the car will have to slow down, adapt to the circumstances, overcome the first little bumps, maybe leave some marks on the streets if speeding too much, and then overcome the big bump, in order to regain speed and keep going.
While jumping the big bump though, if the car is too low, too “risky”, it might scratches the bottom of the car, re-shaping it in order to proceed.
On the same straight road, a speed bump also represents a change, it finally breaks the linear pattern of the street, making the car interact with the speed bump.
Here is how I represented it with an illustration:

Technology adoption is just a ride on a Mexican freeway
More about Mexico and our adventures to come; meanwhile, feel free to share opinions and feedback about this concept. Thanks for your time!
